Looking for Hybrid or PHEV Calculators?

We have consolidated our Hybrid (HEV) and Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) tools into the main Battery Electric (BEV) calculator. Since modern hybrids share the same tire requirements as full EVs—specifically regarding weight handling (XL rating) and efficiency (Low Rolling Resistance)—the BEV calculator provides the most accurate and up-to-date recommendations for your hybrid vehicle.

EV Tire Buying Guide

1

Range is King

Tires can impact EV range by up to 10-15%. Look for "EV Tuned" or "Low Rolling Resistance" (LRR) tires to maximize your miles per charge. Sticky performance tires will reduce range significantly.

2

Load Rating Matters

EVs are heavy due to battery packs. Almost all EVs require XL (Extra Load) or HL (High Load) rated tires. Never install standard load (SL) tires if your OEM tires were XL.

3

Noise Reduction

Without an engine, tire noise is more noticeable. Many EV-specific tires feature foam lining (like Tesla's "T0" or Michelin's "Acoustic Tech") to dampen road noise.
